2024 Course Preview

A few of us rode the course this morning and it is riding very well. A couple of quick notes:

  • Recommend downloading the course as a GPX file to your GPS device of choice for turn by turn directions. I also recommend you ride the course ahead of time as there are a couple of confusing junctions, especially on Brandon Trail.
  • There is water at mile 6.7 along Brandon Trail and also at the golf course (mile 13.5 or so). We will also offer GU hand ups for those who need at the top of the Brandon/Skyline climb (mile 7.3 outbound and mile 15.3 inbound).
  • There are a few areas with loose sand/rocks on Brandon on some sweeping descending right turns and Towhee is fast and fun singletrack, but has some loose areas as well with Eucalyptus leaves/bark, etc. The descents on Red Tail between mile 17 and 18 are fast, rutted, loose and at times, off-camber. Bottom line is this is a dirt course and hazards exist on the trail. Please stay in control at all times.
  • Currently the path alongside the pedestrian bridge near Lake Chabot (mile 11), linking Honker Bay Trail and Cameron Loop Trail is dry and rideable. Please do not use the bridge.
  • The Proctor Staging Area parking lot (mile 13) is closed at this time. You can still ride into it at the end of Ten Hills trail and out of it on the Southern (right as you come into the lot from the trail) exit and left onto Redwood Road for a few yards before jumping back onto Proctor Trail to the golf course.
  • We’ll update again closer to race day. 4 weeks to go!
